This is true…might make me more money than being surrounded by idiots every day.

What, a consultancy to help them set something up? That sounds little better than tech support, no thanks!

Restaurants that don't have online reservation systems are really missing out on the customer experience side of things.

Early mornings with tea, Händel, and reading a few research papers. Nice and relaxing before the monotony of the office that slowly saps one's intelligence.

My next notebook may be that or the Dell XPS 13…

Cold brew is an excellent way to use up beans that have gone stale or which turned out to be a bad buy. You don't really need a "maker" — any sealable container is fine.

Grind to roughly French Press size, 1:7 beans:water ratio by mass, steep (with the container tightly sealed) in the fridge for 18–24 hours, strain through a sieve then a paper coffee filter.

I've found that really dark roasts work best for this method. It's almost as though this method were designed to work best with the cheap stuff.

I don't even try to mention relational databases to these people.

"Huh? What do you mean you don't want a formula-only column splitting 6 data-entry columns in two? How am I supposed to scroll past 20 columns on my screen every time I want to check something? I don't care that it's inconvenient for you!"

People’s inability to understand the difference between raw data and a report can be quite infuriating.

Depends on which version you get. There’s a USD 20 difference. Of course, the one I redeemed with Asia Miles would be the cheaper one.

Had no idea until I googled — getting ads off the Kindle is as easy as asking politely on the support chat.

"Normally we charge $20 but I'll do it for free this time"

Heh.
