Not a bad Christmas party. Awesome vodka, gin, and whisky, and the most loving cat…and lots of dogs ignoring me. Funny role reversal there.
Last week, I was so busy reading that I watched 3/4 of an episode of Billions in 3 days.
Yesterday, I switched to movies. Today, I've watched 2 movies and have 2 more lined up for tomorrow. Older French movies, mostly.
Weird.

He’s very good at verbal debate and so far has dodged my comments very smoothly, the few times I’ve been able to drag him out to lunch — he’s also very good at putting off these kinds of meetings.
My background is entirely in academia — the domain of carefully considered writing and a desire to avoid the pitfalls of logical fallacies and rhetoric.
Time to write that most difficult email to the CEO, laying out the problems that will kill the company in the next year and proposing solutions.
Not pleasant, but I’m experiencing first-hand the consequences of inaction on a daily basis…and I have it easy compared to the rest of the team.
A potential supplier invited me to have a drink at a place I’d never been to before. I usually don’t pay so I just agreed — 30 seconds from the office, and just half an hour commitment, no big.
Turns out it was a very upscale restaurant. Not just a drink, but a full 4 course dinner with 3 bottles that he’d brought along to show me.
3 hours later, I’m very full indeed.
