One last day on the slopes, with a long lunch at one of the only full-service restaurants up the mountains.

Thank god for all the Aus and NZ baristas in BC who know what a long black is and how not to dilute an espresso to homeopathic levels.

Forecast is gorgeous: should be cloudless all 3 days of skiing.

Driving up to Whistler at 60km/hr because the winds are so strong at some points that it’s blowing the car off course.

I have plenty of restaurants and bars to visit!

Quite. I made my thoughts quite clear before heading off for coffee.

Day 2: being reminded why I usually choose not to spend time with my family in Canada. I was under the impression I came here to help sort out grandma’s belongings and clean up the apartment in Richmond; as soon as I arrive, I’m told only my aunts and uncles should be in the room to sort through her things.

Therefore, a potentially totally wasted Sunday morning. I’ll be out in 30 minutes for some decent coffee and a walk around the mall.

Cloudless, sunny afternoon and I’m falling asleep.

Gotta love jet lag.

2 days in Whistler ?

Just a week. Not enough to do to justify staying any longer.
