Huh. Turns out grandpa has 2 Selmer saxophones: the alto which he gave me, and a tenor.

A man has a big set of lungs…

I love emacs but its interpretation of regular expressions makes me want to kill something.

This is the Mark IV — feels a lot heavier than the Yamaha tenor.

I'm not nearly good enough at any instrument (save perhaps the violin) to make comparisons. But I can believe it.

Hopefully! All it needs is new strings and one tuning gear.

And a whole lot of practice.

I've accidentally built up quite a set of instruments in my short lifetime, including Chinese flutes, many recorders, violin, piano…most recently a gorgeous Selmer alto sax from the 1980s (from my grandpa, who prefers the tenor) and then this guitar. Rather a stretch for this small apartment.

Someone just left a guitar at the apartment lobby by the lift. Absolutely covered in dust and with rusty strings. One of the tuners will need replacing. But otherwise pristine — barely any marks on the lacquer.

So let's see what I can do. Perhaps they gave up on it because of that one broken tuning gear.

Or I took it by mistake — I'm sure I'll find out soon enough if I did…

What's going on with Blurbybot? Just switched to iPhone DR and the /register command is no longer recognised.

I haven't had that pop up yet.

Having this ability is surely a sign you need better music.
