I don't know what Colissimo have been playing at this past week. My Banana Republic order arrived today — a week late — and Colissimo's sticker indicates that they had to "repair" the package.

I opened it and found lower third of the dress shirt I ordered torn, and with what looked like tire marks on the fabric.

At least BR's support staff are competent.

The packing slip/return form must have gotten destroyed at some point in this process as well, so I've had to ask for a new one to be emailed.

At least the tshirts arrived unscathed — but they were in their own bags, whereas the dress shirt was simply folded and placed in the outer packaging.

The wonderful satisfaction of getting the cooking time just right so that the veal can be eaten with a spoon almost as easily as the mashed potatoes.

A nice, chewy Cahors Malbec to go with it.

Only pain could come with that.

(I don't expect…anyone…to get this terrible joke.)

I agree. The problem is having the means to travel to that extent.

Nowadays, it often feels like there's no difference between the two. It's just a matter of whose archives your stuff gets placed in: "yours" or theirs.

Nothing like the spiciest food you have at home to keep your energy up on a rainy day following a sleepless night.

Time for some tea, I think.

@kdfrawg Well, quite. I wonder if my strings need to be changed — even with a substantial amount of rosin, I sometimes feel the bow slipping, and I can't think of any reason other than caked residue on the strings built up over the past 2 years.

My left hand's fingertips and wrist are sore from playing violin.

Not sure how long I've been going for, but it's definitely time to stop — before I get blisters :o

That hasn't happened in a long time.

I so rarely have to talk or write about them that I'm not sure why I call them that. Redundant, I suppose, except that I do hang around a lot of people who use brackets as a synonym for parentheses because it's faster to say.

I do that for news sites. Reddit can be surprisingly useful :o
