What're they gonna do, increase taxes even more? Surprised people put up with it as it is — if I were there, I'd put all my savings into a one-way ticket.

Woke up at 8:30 quite alive, decided to lie down for another few minutes, set a timer (not an alarm).

Woke up at 10:45.

Sigh.

One day, you'll be able to rent one for an evening.

Right, one more glass of water, then to bed. If Spooky Broadcaster continues to broadcast, I hope to dream of my days in choir and performing in churches…those were good times.

@kdfrawg Very old rum is my drink of choice to go with cigars, if only because I find pairing complex whiskies a bit of a waste. Rum is simple and has the viscosity to match the power of the smoke.

Hmm, maybe someone had their windows open and was playing a recording.

It was nice, though. May or may not have been an excerpt from Mozart's Lacrymosa (Requiem) — I've been awake for 20 hours at this point and physically active for most of them, so…

Either I'm losing it, or there's a choir singing rather loudly. Not unpleasant — it's more in the classical style — but eerie, because there's also an organ accompanying. Must be at least 1km away. :o

@kdfrawg Love your style. I like to have one bottle of whisky and one of brandy available at any given time to suit my mood.

@kdfrawg I often go for Highland whisky, but it looks like I'll be on an Islay roll after this Aultmore 18 as I have 2 bottles of Laphroaig limited editions hanging around.

Requested a solo seat when I booked this ticket, and of course they give me a seat facing someone.

Someone who is taking up a lot of legroom and insists on putting his bag between his legs.

The SNCF will never get it right, the fools. The importance of solo seats cannot be overstated.
