Plans have literally changed overnight following a series of emails to mum. Looks like I'll be shipping stuff to her friend there and doing the visa app in HK, which should be rather less stressful as I'll deal with returning the apartment keys and closing my French bank account first instead of juggling everything.

Nothing weird about liking Vancouver!

I do believe Inbox iOS just lost a response the moment I tapped "send".

It is odd, and actually my weekend there left me with doubts as to whether I'd enjoy living there or not. London would be a less drastic change for me, because I've only ever lived in capital cities, but since it's just for a year, I figured it'd be a nice challenge, if nothing else.

It's also extraordinarily safe, particularly as capitals go, so the worst that would happen is that I end up hating it more than I would have London or any other city because it's too quiet or something like that.

I'm sure. Edinburgh will probably be less so than London, though I'll probably be flying to London and Paris reasonably regularly for wine events.

For my master's degree, I need a visa regardless of which passport I have, last time I checked. Anyway, the Canadian one's being renewed.

Wow, the UK visa application process is…insanely annoying.

Tuna tataki, shredded carrot, and baked Japanese yam, all with a light and simple ginger-flavoured beer. Light and sweet flavours. Mmmh. And I had a nice time with the blowtorch.

Hehe. That sometimes happens to the maintenance notices in our building.

Ooh, thanks.
