A 1br apartment would be luxury for me — then again, I live alone.

I'd ideally have an over-powered unit at home regardless of how much I worked at the office. I don't have the patience to wait for machines.

I have considered building my own for a while now.

Well, this is pathetic. TF2 can't run more than 30 minutes without beachballs.

Well there are styles of music that we are used to hearing in the background, and there are also those who compose music specifically to be enjoyed as background. But it's always nice to actively listen to music, whether you can read notation or not.

I suspect that, rather than being strong stuff itself, it just makes the bourbon stronger…

"You must expect it to be fast; holding a heavy instrument like that would want one to put it down as soon as possible." [youtube.com]

That is one possible explanation for why Kuijken chose that tempo, I suppose… :o

Example: Bach's chaconne played on viola [youtube.com].

Have always been enchanted by the C and G strings of the viola. They have a very special and rarely-heard quality (if only because the viola is, sadly, so often ignored).

I never understood how people could study with music playing. When I listen to music, I "see" the notes on the stave, or at least vaguely, which renders reading out of the question.

And, really, some kinds of music deserve my full attention.

  1. Burnt fingers.
  2. Yummy.
