I am so confused about this Trump vs ByteDance story. Chiefly, what happens if ByteDance refuses to sell TikTok?
@matigo I'm not sure there is precedence for such a thing…any accusations like that would probably have to be tried in court on a scale comparable to post-WW2.

@matigo I’m sure many people are angry, but economic issues prevent most groups from speaking out louder.
@hazardwarning HK’s approach to aircon is pretty bad: always on full blast, but buildings tend not to be designed with insulation (acoustic, temperature, anything) in mind (for whatever reason). Makes it rather easy to get a headache when you go indoors after some time outside. That’s one reason people carry jackets in the height of summer.
Does always having protective glasses on affect your sleep cycle? I suspect not getting enough light and UV in the day gives me problems at night, especially with eye strain.
@sumudu My dad was a scout in his younger days. Camping every weekend — but Hong Kong was a different city back then.
@hazardwarning I can totally believe there's no need for neck capes in the UK. A lack of UV rather than too much, over there. In HK it was clear skies and up to 35ºC, so even in the city sunglasses are always at least in my bag. Constant danger of dehydration and heat stroke. I'm sure you'd never leave home if you were over here.
@hazardwarning thought about that but no need for a hat in the city, only in the countryside, so decided to go for the (crushable) Columbia Coolhead II Zero Booney [columbia.com]. Not as good looking, but foldable and has a lovely stowable neck cape.
Voicemail is one of the most annoying forms of communication. I never listen to them.
