Rumours that I'm next on the list to be made redundant. Would the stars really line up for me so perfectly that I could collect my severance pay and start another project in the new year?
So I'm going to need to erase my Apple Watch 3 to upgrade to watchOS 7 because, even with every app deleted, I only have 2.8 GB available (3.1 required for the install).
Sigh.
@matigo I don't think these people understand the difference between front-ends, back-ends, and elbows.
The 7 digits at the front are an industry standard, but there's also another format (in the same standard) that's 18 digits and expresses the DDDD (D*DDxx)
portion, as well as a bunch of other stuff; absolutely no idea why they had to start from scratch.
Makes no difference to me: we (head of IT and I) just generate that number by concatenating a bunch of existing fields. I'll just wait for Bobby Tables to show up.
New accountant wants to use this as the item code format in the accounting system:
DDDDDDD DDDD (D*DDxx) DD
where D is some digit.
Yes, with spaces, parentheses, and asterisk.
Now, as long as no one tries to DROP something, I'm sure we'll be fine, and even then of course the company maintains nightly local and weekly offsite backups, right?
The record will show that I raised my concerns…
@matigo I think the ones I'm using at the moment are JBL LSR305. Quite happy with them.
@matigo Thanks. Will be an interesting journey with a lot of financial upside for me if things go well.
@matigo Yes and developed impressive upper body strength from all the rowing beforehand, I'm sure.
It's a complicated situation when people don't have a way to use up their physical energy. I've been on just 2 hours of proper exercise per week, down from 4–5 usually. Happily, gyms are opening back up this Friday, though Muay Thai with a mask will be interesting.
