Well that's absolutely ridiculous. The author has clearly never heard of evaporation.
@hazardwarning I've often considered putting speakers in the bedroom, but I really only go in there to fetch clothes and to sleep.
@literary I'd keep them on the side. One of my greatest frustrations with most browsers is the lack of a vertical tab bar in an age where 16:10 and 16:9 screens are standard.
// @kdfrawg
@kdfrawg I have been contemplating Vivaldi for a while now. Not to avoid Google — my email, calendar, and contacts are on there anyway — but actually just because of the wonderfully flexible tab bar options and panes/tiling tabs.
// @literary
@hazardwarning I'm not a fan of photos of myself, though I've relaxed a little in the past few years. I generally try to avoid being in photos (unless it's a group photo or something), but have never actually asked anyone to exclude me from a photo, because that would be quite hypocritical.
// @matigo
@kdfrawg Blocking on any level seems to interfere with a lot of sites. For that reason, I use Chrome (with a lot of stuff blocked by default — more than just ads) on a daily basis but keep Safari "clean" for when I make reservations.

Buckwheat arrived. 2 pillows stuffed. Decided to do something about getting a firmer sleeping surface too: shoved the mattress that came with the apartment into the cupboard with the washing machine. Now it's just the memory foam topper on the frame. Almost perfect, except I can no longer sleep in the middle because there are 2 columns of slats and I can feel the wooden spine on my…spine.
@jws so much easier to navigate with the avatars.
2 suggestions re: formatting:
- It looks like the timestamp and username aren't baseline-aligned, which is a little uncomfortable.
- It'd be nice to see a little more separation between the username and the first line of body text. It looks a bit cluttered when posts begin with mentions. Maybe mentions could be grey instead? And/or add a little extra vertical space between the username and the first line.
@indigo Or make it such an eyesore that people never close the app, so they don't have to look at any of the icons.
