But yes, it took a while to come up with that dissertation idea, but then a researcher from the Max Planck institute gave a presentation on something related and that kicked it all off. I bounced a few ideas off her over the cheese and beer reception afterwards, and by the next day I had the proposal sorted.

The project is on how linguistic stimuli can affect olfaction, so I'm using wine for the experiment (a blind tasting).

@kdfrawg Well I've come too far to quit now, so I'll just have to grit my teeth and work with the conclusion that I can't depend on anyone else to come through anymore. This will happen — I care far more than is healthy about this subject (wine) — I'm just sick of dealing with these people.

I am incredibly sick of this university, to the point where even these last 6 weeks will be pushing it. It's a feeling that's been building up for 2 months or so now. General lack of giving a damn.
