Asked for a sample of the new Glenmorangie 19, got a glass of it.
Nice start to the jetlag adjustment.
Then bought 3 bottles of Port because I’m already way over my duty-free limit for spirits. Though usually HK citizens don’t get checked.

Untitled Bar may be one of the most beautiful I’ve been in. Cold brutalist interior, re-distilled cocktails that do indeed taste like fresh snow and the smell of a violin, and dangerously affordable.
@kdfrawg You may be talking about a time before mine. I don’t even remember travel pre-9/11.

@kdfrawg I wouldn’t go that far, but it is pretty bad in the US, in my experience.

I love being in London, but being here this time with HK extremely fresh in my mind, I find the transport lacking. An hour in a sardine tin just to get to dinner…sigh.
@kdfrawg Cathay business class I don’t mind, though recently they seem to have stopped memorising people’s names before boarding; BA is a real step down from that. Especially on domestic flights.

I have a feeling anyone who created a silent airline (pre-select meals, everything done by robots or just staff who appreciate silence) would be very successful. No in-flight sales, no “thanks for flying with us” blasting in my ear…
Ah, Heathrow.
Uber to hotel then straight to dinner, it seems. Left the reservations a little late, so early dinner tonight.
