@variablepulserate It's not particularly easy to prepare, emotionally and also because Hong Kong doesn't actually have an established system for this sort of thing (e.g. no readily available templates).
My doctor was even confused by the concept of creating such a document because I hadn't already been diagnosed with something. That was a scary reaction; I'd assumed all doctors would be quite familiar with the idea.
It's also of note that my document declines all life-sustaining treatment, including resuscitation, if I am diagnosed with a terminal illness or go into a coma — I'm almost certain that's not what my family would choose for me. It's even more daunting to think that I would be resuscitated when I actually didn't want to be.
