After all the stress of moving, we finally had one night of relatively bearable weather, and I had one night of sleeping more than 6 hours. That was nice.
Sharing 2 wonderful bottles of wine with the friend whose apartment I'm staying at tonight. A Tuscan Cabernet Franc and a 1995 Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
All the while "blasting out" Händel sonatas.
@kdfrawg That's why I like them so much. Also makes for a nice stool during long waits.
@kdfrawg Thanks. Let's hope I don't hurt myself dragging those suitcases up 8 flights of narrow, winding stairs (staying at a friend's tonight, and he lives in the ex-servants' quarters of an 1800s building). Particularly nervous as my Pelican case also has a hard drive in it.
I have twice as much as my allowance to check in tomorrow. Good thing I have Asia Miles :o
4 servers doing 26 covers in a Michelin star restaurant. In a 5-star hotel. Amazing how they keep their cool, even carrying trays of wine glasses with stems as long as the bowl's height.
Having a wine cart (literally, like a cheese cart but made for wine bottles and glasses, complete with glass rack and space for ice buckets) also makes it awesome, but what really got me was how the sommelier designed a water list as well — about 10 choices of water each for sparkling and still, listed with their mineral content.
@thrrgilag No and I won't have a chance to for a fair while. I'll let you know in a few days.
@hazardwarning I was referring to the buckets of soft drinks ;p but I do have a preference for chocolate/caramel popcorn over salt. // @matigo @jpa
@hazardwarning What amazes me every time is the size of popcorn tubs in cinemas. Go in with a trough of greasy food, walk out during a boring part of the movie, refill that bucket of sugar and get some more fries, then come back in.
At least, that's what one of my uncles does.
