@kdfrawg I would almost say this is a win. They wanted to go back to a hookah bar we've been frequenting for a good 5 years; it's nice enough, and the hookah's great (if limited in flavour), but the music's a little too loud and the cocktails are very boring. For the price, there's a lot that's worlds better.

I've been encouraging them to try other, better hookah bars, and we probably will at some point, but before the cancellation, they were all for going back down the much-beaten path.

One very unorganised friend rather ruined plans to spend the evening together (as a group, not just us 2).

So I buggered off to a cocktail bar I've wanted to try for a while by myself. No regrets, this is a stunning place.

@kdfrawg Indeed. Unfortunately, anything heavier than a seafood salad takes its toll on me quite quickly. I suppose that's mostly why I save the nice meal, and wine, for dinner.

Turns out I'm actually a lot more energetic before I eat anything, which makes 9–12 my most productive hours. Huh.

For the most part, yes. Every tech news site publishes the same article slightly reworded…

Yep. Wine, coffee, and spirits, specifically.

It is, and that's why I only read tech and F&B news.

if it keeps you going for 10C…

my room here needs repainting…humidity is not kind…

if that's what you call a power-nap, I shudder to think what your lie-ins are like ;p
