It's once a year or indeed every few years now, so I put up with it. The cost is less than disappearing.

2 family things:

  • Toronto: mum had an obstacle race thing
  • Vancouver: grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary tonight. Big dinner and family photo (haven't had one since 2007 when my youngest cousin was born)

The Toronto trip was optional but 2 days of good food and cocktails was worth putting up with the parents. The Vancouver section was obviously not quite as optional, and unfortunately involves dealing with a lot more…in a quieter, smaller, overall less entertaining city…

Just 3 days left, anyway; ironic that it'll be more peaceful and relaxing once back in HK…

Well the evenings will probably have to be with family, but I'll do what I can about taking advantage of the daylight.

Platform 7 on Broadway near Arbutus, but heading up to Gastown for a stroll before I suffer an evening of empty comments and forced conversation.

Alone again. Much better.

Coffee.

Good start. Shoved phone back in pocket, corner tore a massive hole.

It's raining in Vancouver, so everything's normal.

WestJet is not exactly impressive but at least each seat has a socket.

That'll make these 4 hours alright, I think.

I'm fine with that — it makes schools in other countries look better! ?
