A tower.

8GB+ is the FreeNAS requirement. OMV claims to run on whatever Debian will run. I'm not using ZFS, which is the real RAM hog.

@kdfrawg No, I've been putting it off for years. Surprised it was this easy.

@kdfrawg How so?

Core 2 Duo E8200, 2.66GHz; 2GB RAM (DDR2). 120GB WD Green SSD as boot.

OpenMediaVault was surprisingly painless to set up.

Wanted to go the FreeNAS route but that'd involve spending a lot more money than I'm currently prepared to do. 120GB SSD + 2x6TB drives, however, is within budget.

One day I'm going to need to do a clean install, something I haven't done since…huh.

Doesn't make sense that my Dropbox syncs to MBA and Mac Pro, and I keep all my stuff on Dropbox, but the MBA is far from running out of disk space.

@kdfrawg That much of it though? I have 16GB memory I almost never use all of as it is.

Quitting Lightroom freed 18GB of startup disk space. WTF?

Pretty sure I can find an omakase menu that'd cost more than that. :o

Looks lovely.
