@matigo Diets overloaded with sodium etc.
Two drops of sesame oil to 2 tablespoons each of light soy sauce and maple syrup, plus a tiny bit of dark soy sauce, made a wonderful glaze.
Oh great, now I'm going to spend the rest of the night being nostalgic…oh well, The Carpenters aren't so bad…
Just once in a while, I come across those Geocities-style sites of the 2000–2010 era, with GIF "night sky" backgrounds (with the stars "twinkling"), low resolution GIFs everywhere, whatever default font was provided used in every variation and colour possible…and then I get all nostalgic. @height8 I'm guessing it was a little like that feeling every time we cross the border back into HK after a weekend in China.
Saw a recipe that suggested, for a glaze, equal parts soy sauce, maple syrup, and sesame oil.
Which sounds absolutely nauseating, because 1 teaspoon of sesame oil in the spiciest stir fry is already very noticeable.
Decided to buy potatoes at the organic supermarket next to the regular, much bigger supermarket just to see what it was like inside.
The price of the most basic things — potatoes, onions, etc. — was ridiculous. Never setting foot in there again…except, perhaps, to see what their wines are like.
@matigo You drink water straight? Tough palate. ;)
I've never had problems from anything I've eaten or drunk, even meat that was starting to look like wet-aged steak.
