@matigo Yeah…and even if I did have a dishwasher, I couldn't use it for 70% of my stuff (cast iron, carbon steel, expensive knives, etc.)

@height8 That makes sense.
I'm not sure if my enjoyment for cooking for myself is purely me enjoying cooking (which I always have liked), or whether some satisfaction also comes from knowing that I'm not giving money to rip-off restaurants.
// @matigo
@height8 Heh. My kitchen, on the other hand, is going to need copious amounts of bleach.

@matigo As I always say, this kitchen was clearly designed by someone who doesn't cook. Very little about it is logical in the slightest, including the small wall-mounted heater (connected to the building supply) that's right by the window.
Would've thought the kitchen was hot enough.
@matigo There's one isolated for the microwave, and one behind me next to the toaster oven.
@matigo A photo would explain better. For reference, that's an 8" knife on the board. Just to the left of where the photo ends is the drying rack, and then a tiny sink beside that. The built-in stove is crap, so I use it as a storage space :P
@matigo Quite. It forces me to prep everything before I get the pans in place, because there's just no manoeuvring room — even with relatively short (7–8") knives.
@matigo Not far off. I don't think I could swing more than a kitten in there, actually, and then only above my head.
@matigo I miss having a kitchen at all. Mine doesn't really qualify as one IMO…
