Mark Shuttleworth pledges no back doors for Ubuntu [eweek.com]
Which is very good news.
"We don't do encryption to hide things; we do encryption so we can choose what to share," Shuttleworth said. "That's a profound choice we should all be able to make."
> Shuttleworth emphasized that on the encryption debate, Canonical and Ubuntu are crystal clear.
> "We will never backdoor Ubuntu; we will never weaken encryption," he said.
Only came in to this tiny bar on a relatively worn-down street (next to a bar that I don't really like) because of Paris Beer Week — beer cocktails!
Think this is one to note down though. They make their own infused spirits/liqueurs, and they do it on the bar counter in front of everyone. Great peated beer cocktail too, a very sweet peat note with a gentle richness like that of dark maple syrup, and a very slight smokey, grassy acidity to balance it out.
Table next to me shouting "OK Google" in French English into the guy's watch (Motorola I think).
Didn't work.
Ha.
Think I should get some sleep, I can read through these notes again over breakfast tomorrow…this is going to be one bad exam.
Informally: fish and chips.
Formally: sole, baked on a bed of cherry tomatoes, with yam fries.
And for dessert: tapioca pearls with sugar and nutmeg. The simple things in life…
