Wonder if @height8 knows about Reunion Island roasters [sprudge.com]

fortunately I didn't experience too much of it, though I did usually try to keep on teachers' good sides.

Second time at that bar. Ordered one cocktail, got 2 shots (of Heaven Hill) and 1 cocktail on the house.

Their cocktails are serious, too. First was made with distiller's edition Lagavulin, and the second was one that they bottle and sell internationally. My kind of bar.

There is something to be said for sitting at the bar and just chatting with the bartenders. And of course it was very educational, since I might actually move here soon.

unsure. This cousin isn't particularly academic, so the teacher could be choosing to believe the more studious one's claim. At the same time, no competent teacher should refuse to listen to other POVs, so I'm putting it down to the teacher either playing favourites or just being special.

My one complaint about Edinburgh: last buses from outside the city centre are at 11:45pm or thereabouts. Way too early.

But Ubers are only slightly more than taxis in HK…so it's hardly a big deal.

Cousin did a group project which one girl presented and took all the credit for. The rest of the group got 0 and the teacher won't listen to any explanations. Cousin understandably has violent feelings towards said girl.

Said it'd be more effective to get that teacher's inability to listen in writing, then escalate it. But apparently beating an apology out of the girl is the more appealing option because it's not "boring".

I give up.

Had an amazing pre-dinner cocktail using 12yo Highland Park and blackberry liqueur (I think), with an orange element and peel garnish.

Gastropub dinner tonight. Casual…a little too casual. Anyway, that'll give me ample time, energy, and budget for some more cocktails after dinner.

ah, that brings back memories.

@height8 pity the man who frowns so much his eyebrows have merged.

My kind of cocktail bar: beautiful glassware, candles, lamps, all wood and leather, and about 100 bottles behind the bar. Frank Sinatra playing.
