My mum's gotten better over the years. This time, she gave me the entire 2 weeks' plans the day I landed. I have them all in my calendar with reminders.

Winds in Edinburgh are apparently so extreme now that the university has had to lock some buildings' doors. One of them is stiff enough as it is, so those winds must be pretty crazy.

My choice of wine decides my meals, and my appreciation for good tools leads me to buy knives, amongst other things.

I don't collect them, really. I buy them and (ab)use them following my mood — sometimes I use the Chinese knives, sometimes the Japanese ones, but very rarely any German-made ones (the steel's too soft and I just can't get them sharp enough).

Another trip to CCK. Another few knives bought.

The knives themselves aren't expensive. But this hobby is.

And 102 floors up, very little seems to exist anymore.
