@skematica I hate that. I've had a few professors whose slides were so detailed I could just not show up — and that's often what I did, especially if I'd already decided on my essay question. Detailed slides are a good thing but spending 2 hours reading out slides isn't so impressive.
@larand S'good. But the reasons behind it aren't.
One thing no one ever mentions is privacy by linguistic obscurity. When I was in secondary school, I had a few friends who I'd chat to using a made-up somewhat-systematic Cantonese pinyin code-switched with English shorthand.
Esperanto using the Greek alphabet or Ancient Greek using the Latin alphabet would also throw a lot of people off.
@gadgetcoma I get through those tedious tasks by putting on a movie.
// @sumudu
@sumudu The days of those are limited; soon, we'll have AIs to write our letters for us.
@matigo It'd better not be. Headache and fever I can handle, but I can't afford to lose my sense of smell this month.
Still have a headache — and a neckache, shoulderache, backache, everyache — but the fever seems to be gone.
@matigo Just yesterday afternoon I took 5 shirts to the tailor to be slimmed.
Damnit timezones!
// @joeo10
@joeo10 Thanks. All bundled up now, and shivering, so it's obviously a fever that just needs to run its course.
12 hours in and 2 doses of paracetamol later, this headache has not gone away. Doesn't feel like a fever temperature-wise but it could be a very mild one…
…which means the only solution is to get on with it and have an early night…
