@kdfrawg Thanks. Good thing I have family here.

It'll be on a budget, but I'll do my best (once the rain stops…)

There's one later tonight but it's £90. Since I stay with my cousin for free, I bought a return (tomorrow morning 10am £45, then 1st July since I need to be back again anyway).

So I'm out quite a bit of pocket…sigh.

Yep. Trains to Edinburgh are usually from King's Cross, this turned out to be from Euston. Ran into Euston 1 minute before the train was due to leave and so missed it.

Not happy with this expensive mistake. Went to the wrong station and missed the train by 2 minutes.

Swift (London) is the first cocktail bar I've seen with a Bamboo/Adonis-derived cocktail: Piccolina.

  • Dry vermouth
  • Taylor's Chip Dry white port
  • Fig
  • Angostura

Really nice.

Which means next time I batch cocktails, I'll be batching this recipe.

Perhaps sometime next month, I should start cleaning up my Markdown restaurant notes. A system has worked itself out in the last year or so, so just under 100 files to process.

None written in the same way, unfortunately. I let this one grow too organically.

Mixed feelings about today's tasting. Some excellent wines, some really subpar ones.

By international standards, I mean. I don't doubt that some were chosen as the best Eastern European wines of the group.

Tasting day.

Starting with a masterclass.

T-just under 2 hours.

Need coffee.

(And food. But coffee first.)

conclusive evidence then!
