First thing I noticed: the sound system is surprisingly good for a bar, even if it is a cocktail bar. Looked around: Yamaha HS5's, wall mounted, set to a volume conducive to hearing myself think. Yay!
So nice to catch up with a friend over nice (read: acceptable) wine.
We both agree time and again that the degree in Paris was crap — made us very academically lazy — but that things worked out for the best in the end, and that we'd happily do it all over again. Heh.

(Even the cashier wondered why the hell I was bringing French wine to Paris. But that's the problem with arriving late in a country where everything shuts down by dinnertime…)
