First thing I noticed: the sound system is surprisingly good for a bar, even if it is a cocktail bar. Looked around: Yamaha HS5's, wall mounted, set to a volume conducive to hearing myself think. Yay!
So nice to catch up with a friend over nice (read: acceptable) wine.
We both agree time and again that the degree in Paris was crap — made us very academically lazy — but that things worked out for the best in the end, and that we'd happily do it all over again. Heh.
Smart bus driver on this airport bus. She saw that there are only 3 of us in here, so went around asking which stop we were all going to.
So we skip a load of useless stops and possibly take a few shortcuts.
First driver I've ever seen in Paris actually think.
@nitinkhanna Local grocery/convenience stores.
But it's awful stuff that I wouldn't cook with.
Huh, decent deal at duty free for once: 2 bottles of Jadot Mâcon 2015 for £15.
Means I can show up in at my friend's in Paris with wine instead of trusting him to pick one out. And then he can pay for dinner.
(Even the cashier wondered why the hell I was bringing French wine to Paris. But that's the problem with arriving late in a country where everything shuts down by dinnertime…)
I give up with atom-json-editor. The UI can't even get the fields in the right order.
Thought this JSON schema generator [jsonschema.net] would do nicely with Atom's JSON UI plugin.
Nope. Because the genius who wrote the editor didn't put in an option to NOT SORT ALPHABETICALLY. Scrambled everything.
