@indigo It's back up now, with hideous latency. Was worried I'd reach my tethering limit before that.
@indigo Virgin is the (only?) exception: they laid their own cables. Which is very likely why the uptime is so horrendous. Chose them because their fibre is faster than BT; had no idea it would be this bad.
I think they're the only exception because articles about switching ISPs say that it's pretty easy to switch between them unless it's Virgin, so I assume it's a plumbing thing.
The whole area around Edinburgh airport smells like…farm and someone who hasn't showered in a few months.
