Accepted a job offer last night, before the long drink/dinner.

Multiples of 8 wines later, and much good conversation with winemakers and one guy from East Germany (his words) particularly concerned with security and backdoors, I’m on my way home…in preparation for an event that will apparently take place in 2 days.

What's so important about south-facing in Japan?

I mean, I value it in the way vineyard owners in Europe do — because a southerly aspect gets the most sunlight — but is there another reason?

I always travel with a few teabags on the offchance that I might have the opportunity to inflict one on someone.

Nice glass of whisky. Got a craving for a snack. Made truffle butter toast, half plain and half with torched processed cheese.
