When I was looking for my first mechanical KB, I did look at the Blackwidows — ended up going for a Ducky.

@height8 Time to get a real keyboard again :o the chiclet keys actually give me a headache (and, despite the minimal travel distance, wrist ache). I suppose it doesn't help that the left shift key on my MBA has gone mushy from overuse.

If I had good reason to improve my typing further, I would — but if I typed any faster, the stuff I'd come out with would be worse than at present!

@height8 It was just a paragraph. I don't quite need to sustain — I don't do captioning or take dictation. What kind of school was this that you had to type continuously at that speed for 2 hours? :o

@height8 There's a keyboard coming out this summer-ish called the Ultimate Hacking Keyboard — split into two, with add-ons for the thumbs (including trackballs and mouse buttons) and I'm almost certainly going to get it. I don't need it, but the trackball thing gets me :D
Do your hands hover over the keyboard?
I got 120WPM on an online test.

@height8 Wow. I can't type on QWERTY without wrist strain anymore — been on Dvorak for too long (and probably for the best). I'm quite iffy with numbers unless it's on a numpad…but then I don't deal with numbers a lot.
I should do a WPM test soon. Haven't in a while.
