Quite in love with the marginnote package in LaTeX. Works beautifully with the twoside layout. So much more elegant than endlessly indenting bullet points as I would with Markdown (to be fair, lists are much more of a pain to set up in LaTeX).

My theory is that the world has just gotten louder — speakers are capable of playing louder, and I imagine even classical singers go into bars and clubs once in a while. So when we speak, we speak louder to compete with the surroundings, and that habit carries over into singing.

Just an armchair theory, of course.

Felt quite lively right up till I started plating dinner (just tartare and caramelised onions — leftover horse from yesterday), then I started getting all shaky and wondered if I'd made the right choice in deciding not to have any carbs tonight.

I would say that opera's remained reasonable, but it seems that modern opera singers force their voices more than those in the early days of recording did.
