@skematica You're back!

Also, as beautiful as the iMac is, Apple's stuff has gotten so hard to upgrade (for hardware) that I don't think I'd risk it.

As I feared. I suppose going custom wouldn’t be too bad; the only problem would be ensuring compatability with Debian/Ubuntu.

Ah, if only I were innocent and felt totally secure using Windows as a primary OS…

Have you suffered the beautiful tables of adjective declensions yet?

22 hours is a lot of stops :o or do they go slowly on purpose so you can "sleep"?

I’d love to build my own, but it’s so much work. Ultimately I’d like to dual-boot Windows and Debian on a very high-spec gaming rig, 1 SSD and 3 HDDs, high-end sound card, quiet cooling.

I've been looking at high-end gaming PCs for a while now, and the one thing that totally turns me off is that none seem to have Thunderbolt ports by default.

@kdfrawg I only ever look online — the only places worth bothering with brick-and-mortar shops are HK and China. There are a few dual-mount stands, but at extortionate (100USD+) prices.

The lack of 28"-compatible VESA desktop clamp mounts is distressing. Everyone supports 27", but nothing more. Sigh.

@kdfrawg Yes, but only because a lot of people seem to like complicating their lives by labelling things as taboo etc. to set themselves apart from those who aren't "in the know".

It's all very strange.
