Shit, I thought the Tokyo metro was hard to navigate.

"Go down and walk straight until you see the sign for the 9/11 memorial. Then go back up, and double back. That's the right platform."

Jesus.

Just found out a couple of friends I'm meeting in Toronto are coming to NY after Toronto. I'm going straight back to Edinburgh after the wedding parties.

A good thing, at the end of the day. The only time I can bear to travel with anyone else is when I don't care too much about the city or what it has, and am more concerned with spending time with people. This is rare. NY is precisely the kind of city I need to be in alone, to get lost in…and the cocktail scene here is amazing — something they'd never appreciate.

And this introvert dreads even just 4 days in Toronto with them. They're hanging around for 10 days after those 4 days.

Sounds about right. I don't understand how my americano ended up tasting like brown water. Waste of good beans. Might just have to stick to ordering espressos.

Coffee in Manhattan is as expensive as HK, easily, unfortunately with a preference for a whole load of dilution.

@kdfrawg In a city so small you can walk anywhere worth going in 30 minutes? Hmm

What flight did the agent book for me…no sockets, no screens…about as cramped as EasyJet, but for an 8-hour flight…

Oh yeah, and I got a full body search. We haven't even left the UK yet.

Not really my kind of morning glory.

Thanks. Not the flight I'm worried about :)

Boarding (sometime in the next 15 minutes).

See you all on the other side, assuming I make it out in one piece and with the normal number of holes in my body.

It starts early eh. Got interrogated in Edinburgh airport in line for the American Airlines check in.

Moron didn't even know that Canadians don't need a visa to enter the US.
