Went to see relatives I haven’t seen in years today, as one does. Just seeing those old apartments again brought back a lot of good memories…but then cloudless, sunny days always do.
And it just so happened that one of my kindergarten-era friends who lives next to my grandpa was in. So much has changed.
@matigo Not quite! The route I’ve gone down (WSET), and which he’s signed up for, is purely theory. Leads to consulting and eventually the Master of Wine.
It’s the Court of Master Sommeliers whose exams include a service element. I would never do that…
Quite sure we treat our interns well enough. His last day, and our last day before Chinese New Year, so Champagne and a beautiful Super Tuscan.
I’d like to think I’ve inspired him with wine. He’s decided to fly back from the Philippines to take his first wine cert next month.

Forgot my afternoon coffee. Was in the zone. Then gorged on pretty decent and truffle-heavy food at dinner.
Now very full and extremely tired.
