@matigo Heh, he might well do. The best writers are all on DOS anyway, it seems :o
@matigo Ah, he’s not so bad, he wants to be a writer — which really makes me wonder why he didn’t just request to transfer to English literature from psychology once he realised he had no interest in being in a clinic all day. Problem is, his lifestyle involves a lot of gaming, and gaming hardware doesn’t come cheap — even if he is happy to live in a hole, those graphics cards aren’t getting any cheaper…
@matigo Indeed. He’s no fool — when I asked him if he thought he could be comfortable and fully independent with that kind of career, he acknowledged that it’d be a struggle, but that he’d “probably like to share a place with a friend for a while anyway.”
What I don’t understand is why he dropped out halfway through a degree. Simon Fraser isn’t that bad, is it?…and with Vancouver prices going the way they are (granted, he’s in Burnaby and doesn’t seem to care to leave), even people with much better jobs are struggling for homes…
Halfway through his degree, a cousin decided to drop out of uni because his job as a cook in a chain restaurant made him “enough money”. That was half a year ago. Now he works 3 days in one restaurant and 3 days in another.
Still think that’s the biggest mistake he’s ever made…
Between Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World, I think the former has more laughs, and slightly more daring use of innuendo.
With YNAB now going on a subscription model and my realisation that what I used it for could be done with a spreadsheet anyway, I’ve gone back to…just using a spreadsheet. Much faster too…
@JeremyCherfas As long as you're quite sure you're not nudging the cable with your foot or something, then yes.
