Not very productive on my side either…oh well.

It's unfortunate that 4k displays are even more fussy on the Mac Pro. The 6 ports actually only lead to 3…cards?…so you can only have 3 4k monitors connected in a very specific configuration (e.g. plugged in to 1, 3, 5/2, 4, 6 but not 1 & 2 or 3 & 4)

Surely that'd be worse :o and the whole point behind getting it in the first place was so I could take it in my suitcase when it was time to leave. iMac got seriously damaged in shipping from HK–Paris.

Strangely, in this race to get connectors as "modern" as possible, anythnig with a lock has been discarded in favour of stuff that just doesn't hold.

Every cable needs a lock, like ethernet or VGA/DVI.

Thunderbolt is just not impressive as a physical connector. It's FAR too easy to cause a drive to disconnect just by light pressure on the top of the connector whilst repeatedly disconnecting and connecting monitors to try and get the POS Mac Pro to not flicker amongst the insanely crowded set of ports. Can't even reach the damn power button without nudging something nowadays.

Woke up to a frozen Mac Pro. Forced restart, no graphics. Had to unplug 2 monitors to get the 3rd one to show anything. This is getting REALLY old.

Really shouldn't be sleeping so late. The days are getting shorter and sunlight increasingly precious…so off to bed.

Cockburn's LBV 2009: meh. Was good with the steak though — cut right through all that butter.

But I did get it cheap from a supermarket.

Saving the nicer ports for later…I think.

@kdfrawg Find a more competent manufacturer :o
