"Sommelier" generally refers to a (justifiably) glorified waiter.

My job is almost exclusively online. Think of it more as consulting on an individual basis, e.g. a client wants to throw a party in 2 weeks, has organised food, but needs x bottles of wine — my job is then to come up with a list, get it approved, then contact our many suppliers to negotiate pricing and delivery etc.

I would never have accepted a sommelier offer. Too much standing around, too much face-to-face interaction. In this job, where my boss gets intimidated by ordinary English prose just because it's in a monospaced font, I can surround myself with text files and not be disturbed.
