Written communication is a huge weakness amongst many of the senior people in this team. They claim calls are easier than emails; from my perspective, though, that's likely only because their meandering, verbose, half-finished thoughts don't present as badly on a call as in an email.
I even get audio messages on Teams, which I make it a point to take my sweet time to react to because I don't want to encourage such nonsense.
