@hazardwarning the scorch marks are a tad annoying and do tend to unsettle visitors.
My ideal home would have natural stone walls — proper 30–50cm thick stone walls that keep the temperature at a relaxing 15–18ºC. Scorch marks probably wouldn't be too much of an issue with that kind of setup.
