@kdfrawg I'm not a fan of the stale smoke either, but standing outside doing nothing but smoke for over an hour is just out of the question, particularly in this extraordinarily windy city.

The apartment in Paris was a little easier to smoke in — the paint on the walls seemed to be less permeable. No lingering smoke smell ever. But then that did have a massive window — here, the windows barely open 10cm.

The walls here also seem to be drywall or similar – the kind you can barely wipe without smudging the texture. So I'm taking extra steps.

Wow, I've really missed cigars. Unfortunately it's something I have to time even more carefully than caffeine — I can't sleep properly at all after smoking.

Miraculously, my somewhat OTT setup of blowing onto a plate of baking soda, placed under a "tent" made with 4 bottles and a wet towel, plus a plate of white vinegar on the side, with the window open and the kitchen extractor fan on, seems to have left the place with minimal odour.

The second lens is very handy sometimes. I only cropped a tiny bit out of this photo.

Very unfortunate time to get sick; hope you can manage it tomorrow.

// @kdfrawg

Sounds like the perfect Sunday project.

Haven't had a cigar in over a year now.

So that's on the list of things to do tomorrow, since I finished the final essay of the term before dinner.

Still have to prepare for that exam in 8 days, but that's just a few chapters (I think).

@kdfrawg It's absurd.

At least my regular expenses entries are precise.

PayPal's account statements are so vague that I can't reconcile where it took money from and in what currency.

Ah well. I'll be starting a new ledger file next year; I suppose I can live with a bit of messiness for 3 weeks.

Actually 10 days, since I'll probably have a separate file for HK…

Maybe back then, too, you were in no state to drive :P

Coincidence, or…?
